Entrepreneurial Origins and Independence

Executive Summary

From age 16, independent income generation was pursued as a matter of personal satisfaction and autonomy rather than necessity, establishing a lifelong pattern of self-directed commercial activity.

Philosophical Provenance

Affluent family background did not produce dependency. The drive was to fund personal wants through one’s own effort and to experience the satisfaction of small-scale enterprise. This early orientation toward independent value creation later informed both the studio launch and the willingness to rebuild after the textile business closed.

Technical Specifications
  • Sequence: short McDonald’s employment (experience only) → neighbourhood car-wash service → jewellery sales on “apro” (consignment) basis to neighbours and family contacts.
  • Characteristic: no capital required for the jewellery phase; only sold items were paid for.
  • Outcome: early proof of ability to identify a small market, present product, and close sales without institutional backing.
